We are working with an established manufacturing company based in Guilford, CT. They are recruiting a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team on a day shift role. The position will support operations across both the Guilford and Branford facilities.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support and maintain the Quality Management System while driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities
- Manage supplier quality activities including supplier audits, corrective actions, supplier rejections and supplier development programs
- Lead customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Perform machine validation and qualification activities including IQ, OQ and PQ protocols for new and modified equipment
- Analyze process and performance data using statistical methods to validate equipment and process performance
- Create, update and improve quality documentation, procedures and process controls
- Support non-conformance investigations and corrective action programs across the business
- Conduct quality audits of manufacturing processes, systems and documentation
- Partner with production teams to improve quality, efficiency and process performance
- Support quality inspections and provide hands-on assistance on the manufacturing floor as required
- Monitor industry standards, regulatory requirements and quality system compliance initiatives
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects focused on quality, process optimization and operational excellence
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience working within a manufacturing quality environment
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and corrective action processes
- Experience with supplier quality programs, non-conformance management and root cause analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
- Comfortable spending approximately 50% of time on the production floor and 50% at a desk
- Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the business
Preferred Experience:
- Quality Engineering experience within manufacturing environments
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience
- Process validation or equipment qualification experience
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
- ASQ Certification or willingness to pursue certification
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical, medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Process documentation and process improvement experience
- Printing industry experience is beneficial but not required
