We are partnered with an established Industrial Manufacture based in Sherman, TX. They are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Agent to join their team on Day Shift, offering a competitive base salary between $60,000 and $70,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including Healthcare, Vision and Dental insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management: Source and qualify vendors nationally and internationally. Work with vendors on all issues pertaining to quality, pricing, and delivery.
- Order & Shipment Management: Issue purchase orders to vendors and track shipments as needed. Monitor international shipments from initiation to scheduled delivery. Monitor the status of all open orders and estimated time of arrival (ETA) to Trinity and its customers.
- Inventory Management: Check in inventory and monitor the quality of goods. Maintain raw materials inventory, adjusting reorder points and quantities. Monitor and adjust inventory items, updating reorder points and reorder quantities as necessary. Oversee cycle counts with the warehouse to monitor and maintain inventory accuracy. Oversee annual inventory counting processes and make adjustments as required. Work to ensure FIFO ("First In First Out") inventory rotation. Work to improve inventory turns of products to maximize cost and efficiency.
- Negotiation & Pricing: Negotiate pricing and maintain required margins.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with vendors and internal customers to ensure smooth delivery of goods to outside customers. Receive inventory in a timely manner so as not to disrupt internal operations. Work with production on required raw materials and supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally within the industrial manufacturing or distribution industry.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret purchasing data and trends.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude and a commitment to optimizing procurement processes.
