You will be working at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas. Our client is recruiting for a Project Estimator/Detailer to join their team on 1st in return for $65k-75k.

The Project Estimator/Detailer is a key member of our manufacturing team, responsible for accurately calculating the cost and resources required for manufacturing projects. This role involves a high level of detail, from analyzing blueprints and technical specifications to determining material, labor, and equipment needs. The Estimator/Detailer will collaborate with various departments, including engineering and sales, to develop competitive bids and ensure projects are both profitable and delivered on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis: Prepare detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects by analyzing blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Material Takeoffs: Perform material takeoffs to determine the precise quantity and type of materials needed for each project.
- Labor & Equipment Estimation: Calculate the labor hours and specific equipment required for each phase of the manufacturing process.
- Vendor Coordination: Work closely with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes for materials and outsourced services, ensuring competitive pricing.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including detailed quotes, schedules, and budgets.
- Collaboration: Partner with the sales and engineering teams to understand project scopes and develop accurate, competitive proposals for clients.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities related to project costs, schedules, and production feasibility.
- Continuous Improvement: Maintain a database of historical project costs and actively seek opportunities to refine and improve the estimating process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project estimating or detailing role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines.
