Our client is currently hiring an experienced Paint Technician to join their fabrication and finishing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and applying industrial coatings to metal components, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to production standards. This role requires experience in industrial painting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety and production guidelines while obtaining the correct paints and materials for assigned jobs.
- Apply appropriate paint type, color, and quantity to parts using industrial spray equipment, verifying coverage with a wet mil gauge.
- Read and interpret paint specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate coating of dust collection equipment and related products.
- Inspect painted components for quality finish, ensuring even coverage without runs or defects.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of work area, tools, and equipment daily.
- Meet minimum production rates and maintain accurate records of completed work.
- Comply with job break schedules, attendance expectations, and proper use of timekeeping systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 4 feet without assistance.
- Stand or sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Bend, stoop, push, pull, and climb ladders up to 12 feet.
- Use hands and fingers for power tools, hand tools, and equipment.
- Work around paint fumes, solvents, and dust (respirator qualified required).
- Work indoors and outdoors in variable environmental conditions.
- Maintain vision and hearing necessary to operate vehicles and equipment safely.
- Maintain effective working relationships in a high-stress, production-driven environment.
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in industrial painting or manufacturing finishing roles.
- Strong understanding of paint systems, coating procedures, and surface prep techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments (e.g., wet mil gauge).
- Mechanically inclined with a focus on quality control and safety.
- Dependable with strong communication and time management skills.
