We're partnered with a leading national construction/engineering company based in San Jose, CA, and they're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer/ Electrical Engineer Manager/Director of Engineering/Construction Engineer/Electrical Engineer/Electrical Engineering Team Lead/Project Manager to join their dynamic team.
They are looking for experienced Electrical Engineers to join their Engineering team that is responsible for providing complete oversight for the direction, planning, management and ongoing engineering operations on a regional basis. Provide input on strategic decision making and processes to the VP, Engineering and other Directors and Officers. This key role will represent our Data Center/Mission Critical scope of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Oversight: Understand project requirements, develop design fees, and prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources. You'll evaluate current team and project resource allocation and manage fee disposition.
- Directs preliminary engineering activities: such as the project development, programming or schematic design phase of work, when needed with a focus on large value or high risk work.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build and train your own staff within your region of responsibility. You'll oversee Engineering Team Leads, Engineers, Designers, and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with Project Executives (PX) or Division Managers (DM) regarding effort required for deliverables and project support. This may include developing or overseeing requests for additional services for submittal to the PM team or Owner.
- Quality Assurance & Problem Solving: Oversee the Engineering CAC effort in support of projects and conduct rigorous QA/QC of project designs. You'll be the go-to expert for technical problem resolution.
- Regulatory Coordination: Supervise project coordination with city, state, county officials, and other regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
- Value Engineering: Perform value engineering studies to optimize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Supports the firm's Pre-Construction efforts: especially in the fields of Estimating and Business Development. Assist in the identification and development of leads and closing of new work. Has the ability to maintain external customer relationships throughout the term of the relationship or project.
- Advanced Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of engineering processes and calculations, including load calculations, equipment layout, normal and emergency standby distribution, HV/MV distribution, lighting layout, lighting calculations, power and lighting controls, utility coordination, grounding, value engineering, applicable codes, and standards.
- Strong Management Skills: Advanced skills in work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, staff development, and advancement planning.
- System Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning, along with the ability to analyze and resolve technically complex engineering problems.
- Analytical Prowess: The ability to oversee and review Electrical System Studies such as Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop/Droop, and Underground Thermal Calculations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
- Experience: Typically requires 10 years of engineering experience.
- Licensure: Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required for this position.
- Field Experience: Field experience is strongly recommended.
- Combination of Experience: Education and experience can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Must have
- Must have a minimum of 8 years experience in the required fields
- Must have US-base Professional Engineer (P.E)
- Must have experience working in Data Centers, Building Construction, Large Engineering Projects and Mission Critical scope of work
- Must be able to travel up to 50% to required job sites.
