Our client is currently hiring an experienced MIG Welder to join their fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding 16-18 gauge steel products with a focus on cosmetic quality. This role requires a high level of skill in cosmetic welding, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The MIG Welder will work closely with production staff to ensure product quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment to weld 16-18 gauge steel products according to production drawings and specifications.
- Perform cosmetic welds with a high level of skill and attention to detail.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding instructions.
- Inspect welds during and after welding to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of production output and material usage.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist in minor machine repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in MIG welding in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Proven experience with cosmetic welding on 16-18 gauge steel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, machine settings, and part tolerances.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and use precision measuring tools.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
