We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading Metal Processing company based near Camden, SC. This Manufacturing Engineer role will support and improve manufacturing processes across production operations, with a focus on powder coat paint processes, product assembly, and metal fabrication manufacturing systems.
This is a full-time opportunity offering a competitive salary of $90,000 - $100,000 per year, along with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, paid time off, and ongoing training and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and production workflows
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications to ensure manufacturability and quality
- Support powder coat paint operations and assembly processes within production
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including routings, bills of materials, and part masters
- Utilize MRP/MRPII systems to support production planning and material flow
- Participate in FMEA activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks
- Design and implement tools and fixtures for assembly of welded components
- Work with quality teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production teams
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to improve manufacturing performance
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience working with manufacturing systems such as MRP or MRPII
- Knowledge of powder coating processes or metal fabrication manufacturing
- Understanding of FMEA and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience using CAD software
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently within a manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in sheet metal or metal fabrication manufacturing
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experience with part costing and cost analysis
- Welding process knowledge (manual or robotic)
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
