Maintenance Technician

You will be a key member of the team at a manufacturing facility in South Fort Worth, Texas, supporting the plant's overall business goals. The ideal candidate will be a skilled Maintenance Technician responsible for performing a wide range of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain both production and facility equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations by performing both scheduled and emergency maintenance. This position requires a multi-skilled person to perform all phases of maintenance within our organization.
General Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Utilize a variety of mechanical and electrical skills, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting to repair production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make necessary adjustments.
- Must be capable of adjusting components to obtain and maintain proper performance based on manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Capable of repairing both mechanically and electrically defective parts.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Detect faulty operations and defective materials, reporting any unusual situations to management.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Function as a team member toward the achievement of company goals and objectives, and train others as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- 5+ years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing (Food Industry background preferred).
- Strong Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.
- Basic Electrical knowledge.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment quickly and efficiently.
- Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints.
- Must have all basic tools (specialized tools will be provided).
- Knowledge of equipment such as Multivac, ProSeal, GEA, Handtmann, Riser, and related processing and packaging equipment would be a plus.
- PLC and VFD troubleshooting experience is required.
- Sanitary TIG/MIG welding a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and competently with others.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook (e-mail).
- A hard-working, dependable, safety-conscious individual with a strong work ethic.
- A self-starter who requires little to no supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
