Maintenance Technician

- Openings Across all shifts:
1st (6:30am - 2:30pm) 2nd (3pm - 11pm) 3rd (10pm - 6:30 am starting Sunday night)
2nd and 3rd shift have 15% and 20% shift differential
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to join our team. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and modifying equipment across our facilities. Essential Functions:
- Maintain and follow preventive maintenance schedules for facility equipment
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and material handling equipment, as well as building systems
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs quickly and accurately
- Conduct scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime
- Carry out advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs
- Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to perform maintenance tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Specify instructions for custom fabrication of tooling and equipment modifications
- Source tooling, parts, and supplies from outside vendors (with approval)
- Set up machinery for production runs and assist with facility systems and utilities
- May provide guidance to entry-level maintenance technicians
Physical Requirements:
- Safely lift up to 75 lbs
- Stand for up to 8 hours
- Sit, kneel, or crouch for up to 2 hours at a time
- Use non-powered tools to tighten/loosen fasteners
- Safely climb ladders and stairs
- Work in confined spaces as needed
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Proficiency with powered and non-powered tools
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation
- Computer skills, including Outlook
- Experience with (or willingness to learn) scissor lifts and boom lifts
This position is commutable from Chicago, Rosemont, Downers Grove, Cicero, Northlake, Hillwood, Bloomingdale, Bridgeview, Oak Park, and Elmwood Park.
