Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Columbia (Southeast)
Salary: $30ph – $38ph (+Shift Diff on 2nd shift)
Shifts Available: 1st Shift (6am - 2:30pm) or 2nd shift (4pm – 2:30am)
Industry: Heavy Engineering/Metals Company
We are working with a well-known engineering firm based outside of Columbia, SC. Manufacturer of steel products to a range of industries include Water, Pipework and Gas. They are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Technician working on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri), 4pm – 2:30am, the successful applicant will benefit from a salary ranging from $30 - $38 per hour dependant on experience.
Duties and responsibilities as a Maintenance Technician:
- Install, repair and maintain industrial machinery
- Connecting power supply wires to machines and equipment
- Repair piping, automatic air, hydraulic and auxiliary operated equipment
- Troubleshoot and correct equipment malfunctions
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools
- Perform preventative maintenance by lubricating and cleaning parts
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, control systems, and PLCs
- Welding and fabrication as required
Skills and experience required as a Maintenance Technician:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Welding experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician
- Must have experience with VFDs and Motors
- Pumping and conveyor systems maintenance experience
The factory is easily commutable from the following regions Columbia, Arthurtown, Hopkins, Sandy Run, Gadsen, Eastover, Horell Hill, Weston and more
