We are working with an established Plastics and Packaging Company based in Cincinnati, OH. They are recruiting for an Maintenance Supervisor to join their team on days in return for a salary in the region of $37 - $39 p/h along with excellent employment benefits which include 401K, Healthcare, Vision and Dental.
Duties as an Maintenance Supervisor:
- Supervise, lead, and mentor a team of 2–3 maintenance technicians during night shift.
- Work hands-on with the team, carrying out electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Provide training and mentoring to team members, supporting skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Diagnose and resolve breakdowns across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime.
- Prioritize and allocate maintenance tasks, ensuring effective coverage of production requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and downtime events.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve machine performance and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with day shift supervisors and managers to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of operations.
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience (covering both electrical and mechanical).
- At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
- Background in manufacturing, ideally plastics, extrusion, or similar industry.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills, with the ability to also work confidently on mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on the night shift.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
