Introduction
We are currently recruiting for an HR Specialist to join a growing food company. This role is critical in supporting day-to-day HR operations, ensuring employee data, compliance documentation, and administrative processes are maintained with a high level of accuracy. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS systems and personnel files in line with legal and company requirements
- Process new hires, employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Administer and track leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA, and personal leave
- Manage benefits administration including enrollments, updates, and terminations in coordination with providers
- Complete and audit I-9 documentation and ensure overall HR compliance
- Support payroll and benefits processes through data entry, reporting, and reconciliation activities
- Generate routine HR reports including headcount, turnover, attendance, and PTO tracking
- Assist with internal, external, and government audits by preparing required documentation
- Act as the first point of contact for employee HR-related queries, providing guidance on policies and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 4-5 years of experience in an HR administrative or HR specialist role
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now or similar preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, particularly within a manufacturing setting
