CNC Machinist

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator o join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the precise and timely manufacture of parts using both manual and CNC machine centers, ensuring quality and accuracy per plant specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop accurate CNC programs for both new and repetitive jobs.
- Set up, check programs, and operate numerically controlled and CNC machining equipment.
- Arrange, mount, and secure workpieces, calibrate fixturing, and manually check operations for accuracy.
- Adjust machine settings to correct deviations from specifications and ensure precise tolerances and finishes.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose operating difficulties; recommend tooling and operational sequences for new and unusual machining requirements.
- Work from detailed part drawings and specifications; use precise measuring instruments.
- Instruct lower-level machine operators as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training, with extensive experience in machine shop practices and CNC programming.
- Strong mathematical skills, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and metric conversions.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and routings.
- Experience with G&M code; conversational controls experience a plus.
- Ability to calculate feeds and speeds and understand geometric tolerancing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
