We are working with an established machine manufacturing company based in Addison, IL. They are recruiting a Senior Buyer to join their team. They are offering a salary in the region of $70,000-$90,000 along with excellent employment benefits which include 401K, Healthcare, Vision and Dental, 3 weeks PTO and Life Assurance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Basic knowledge/ability to read manufacturing drawings (blueprints)
- Be a first line of contact and establish strategic relationship with suppliers
- Achieve best cost for material with outstanding quality and within customer need-by date
- Partner with engineering and coordinate with suppliers on design change implementation
- Partner with Supplier Quality and negotiate vendor recovery for liquidated damages
- Develop knowledge of supplier processes, pricing, and quality focus
- Convert requisitions to POs, update dates, and manage PO schedules in ERP
- Manage fulfillment KPIs: on-time placement/delivery, accuracy, pricing, and invoices
- Lead regular meetings with suppliers to review performance, pricing, and lead times
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, engineering, or manufacturing
- Experience with SAP
- Experience with fabricator/machine prints, weldments, and custom machine designs
