Accounting Manager

We are working with an established Engineering and Manufacturing company based in Milwaukee, WI. They are recruiting for an Accounting Manager to join their team in return for a competitive salary (DOE) along with excellent employment benefits which include 401K, Healthcare, Vision and Dental, PTO and Life Assurance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Accurately complete assigned daily, weekly, and month-end accounting functions
- Lead and support quarterly and year-end close activities, including special accounting projects
- Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring accruals
- Reconcile general ledger, balance sheet accounts, and bank statements
- Conduct detailed job cost analysis including materials, labor, and burden
- Perform gross margin analysis across products, inventory, and overall company performance
- Manage accounts receivable, collections, credit approvals, and customer account reconciliation
- Oversee company cash flow, including loans, disbursements, investments, and ACH activity
- Prepare and distribute management reports including daily reporting, labor correction reporting, earned hours, and weekly efficiency metrics
- Support the CFO with audit preparation, fixed asset tracking, and executive financial reporting
- Maintain documentation supporting ISO standards and company compliance requirements
- Recommend policy improvements and support the implementation of process enhancements
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Strong cost accounting and job costing experience within a manufacturing setting
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications including Excel
- Experience with financial reporting, audits, and period-end close processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to drive process improvement
